The evening that Santa Claus visited our house is an evening I will never forget. My lil’ sister had a sponsor through her school and one year, her sponsor and her family came for a visit to our home. And who just happened to tag along, Santa Claus. Yes, I’m talking about going above and beyond with the whole red suit, a black belt fastened with a silver buckle and black shoes and the white hair and beard. To my young mind, this was truly a miracle. The joy and happiness he brought to our home that Christmas Day was unforgettable. I remember Santa brought presents for my siblings, me, my cousins, including my nieces and my nephews.
The gift I got was a curling iron. I was a pre-teen at the time so I guess it made a whole lotta sense, but what they probably didn’t realize was, we didn’t have electricity in our house at the time. It was ironic! Where was I going to plug in the curling iron to curl my hair? The curling iron was so pretty to look at, it was cream colored with black sleek lines that ran down each sides. It’s a shame that a few days after Santa’s visit, I had to cut off the cord so I could heat it over the stove or the open flames just to curl my hair with it. And it was sooo important not to overheat it or else you end up singeing off some of your hair. However, thanks to Santa though, for making Christmas so memorable for my family and I that year.
